Our welfare and benefits advisor based at the Foodbank in the Elim Church in South Wimbledon assists with problems faced by Foodbank users concerning benefits, grants and other financial problems.
Since April 2024 ninety people have accessed the service; advice has been given in relation to a number of issues, including benefits, debt in general, housing and immigration.
Thanks to this service a total of £100,000 in financial gain has been achieved for the people in need. In addition, around £11,000 of debt has been managed, and £800 of debt written off.
In these ten months our service has enabled 20 people to no longer need to access the Foodbank for emergency food supplies.
This service is supported by Trussel.
